My breast implant journey and the recovery guide you need!

If you’ve been considering breast implants but feel hesitant because you’re all about a natural, non-toxic lifestyle, I completely understand. That was me too. I’ve always leaned toward homeopathic remedies and avoided synthetic chemicals, so the thought of getting implants brought up a lot of concerns.
I had heard all the scary things about Breast Implant Illness (BII) and the potential health risks. But after months of research, I discovered that most BII cases are reported by women with underlying autoimmune issues or those in the early stages of menopause, where symptoms can overlap. Another big factor? Anesthesia. It can deplete your body of glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that helps detoxify your body.
With that knowledge, I felt more confident moving forward since I had no prior health issues. But I also knew I wanted to be proactive in my recovery to minimize any risks. Here’s what I did:
- Pre-Surgery Detox: I focused on detoxing my pathways to ensure my body was in the best possible state to handle surgery. [Link to my detox guide]
- Glutathione IV: The day before surgery, I got a glutathione IV to boost my body’s antioxidant levels and prep for the anesthesia.
- Natural Pain Relief: Thankfully, my surgeon placed my implants over the muscle, so the pain was manageable. I avoided prescription pain meds and instead relied on natural supplements for inflammation and discomfort, which I detail in my recovery guide.
- Preventing Infection Naturally: I chewed raw garlic cloves and took oil of oregano capsules daily — two powerful natural antimicrobials.
- Red Light Therapy: For two weeks post-op, I did daily red light therapy on my breasts to prevent capsular contracture and promote healing.
I’m so grateful to say that my recovery was smooth, and I feel more confident than ever. After breastfeeding two kids, I struggled to find bras and swim tops that didn’t make me feel saggy or deflated. Now, I love shopping for new clothes that actually fit the way I want them to.
If you’re on a similar journey, I created a Breast Implant Recovery Journal to guide you through the process with all the tips, supplements, and strategies that worked for me. You can find it on my Etsy shop https://createyourpathbymay.etsy.com
Remember, this is your body and your decision. Do your research, ask all the questions, and make the choice that’s best for you — not for anyone else.
